As it is the Jubilee Weekend here in the UK, I thought that we’d have a home grown UK Olympic hero as the centre piece of our latest inspirational running imagery… For those wanting to know the reasoning behind this regular feature, do refer to the previous blog entries entitled the same which explain in detail.
So yes indeed, at the 2004 Olympic games our very own Kelly Holmes was gold in the 800m and then the 1500m races and this is her winning her second gold in that 1500m final.
As she comes down the home straight Steve Cramm commentating says “it looks so easy” as Kelly Holmes picks up her pace. A lot is said about physique with runners and style, and Kelly Holmes has a muscular, and powerful style that I love. Despite this, she seems to glide and coast at times, great to watch.
